Portsmouth is a waterfront city on the south coast of England. Portsmouth Harbour is now preparing for a new era, the Renaissance of Portsmouth Harbour is one of only 12 UK landmark projects chosen to mark the new millennium. The £86m scheme will consolidate Portsmouth's position as an international waterfront city at the Gateway to Britain. Many new leisure and tourist attractions are being created, including six kilometres of promenades around the harbour and the Gunwharf Quays development which incorporates new berths, the Spinnaker Tower, shopping, leisure, restaurants and bars, along with a residential area. Visitors can enjoy unparalleled access to the waterfront and waterbus services will link both sides of the harbour. The Gunwharf Quays shopping centre is open Monday to Saturday 10am - 6pm and Sundays 11am - 5pm. Gunwharf's restaurants, bars, cinema and bowling centre are also open daily. | ||
